Although I went back to bed when my husband got up and read for a while, I wasn't able to read for a long time because I couldn't concentrate well with little sleep. In the end I gave up and got up early - very unusual for me but I didn't feel I could go back to sleep.

With so much time in the morning, I decided to bake Fiancier Framboise that I learned at the French Baking Class before I left for Japan. They might have been baked slightly too long because some of the raspberries got a little too dark but they tasted good and the texture is perfect - slightly crispy outside and slightly chewy inside the crispy parts.
